WHAT ARE INTERNAL DOORS?
Internal doors are mainly used to provide privacy to a room space, but they can also provide sound and thermal control. They are mainly hinged but can also be operated by folding or sliding. Internal doors can be made to suit any size, design, finish or pattern required. Internal doors are manufactured on a large scale and hand made on a small scale.

WHAT IS THE INSTALLATION PROCESS OF INTERNAL DOORS?
Door installation is a second fix carpentry works item, these works will commence after wall finishes such as plastering and dry lining are fully complete and adequate drying time has passed ensuring that the moisture content of the property is that of a habitable space.
Installing internal doors is the first process regarding 2nd fix carpentry works, essentially enabling the carpenter to adjust door linings if required to suit the actual door size, unhindered by the fitting of architrave mouldings.
On larger developments a door schedule will be issued indicating the allocation of door types and styles, this schedule will usually have details regarding the required iron works for each door to ensure that the client choices are achieved. Often the ironmongery will be fitted as soon as the door is hung on its frame/lining and then removed, repackaged and stored safely until the finals stage of the 2nd fix process.
Internal doors are often supplied as prefinished items that do not require on site decoration. If this method is used, the fitted doors will be numbered, removed from the aperture and stored safely to enable decoration works to be carried out. This reduces the risk of damage to the prefinished door where they will then be refixed once decoration works are completed.
To explain all the procedures and processes required to successfully hang any door would lead to chapter and verse. The truth is lots of practise is required to master this ability in an efficient way.
